The Mansonville farmer’s market began when a small collective of residents gathered weekly in the center of the village to sell the surplus produce from their farms and gardens. Some years later, the market expanded its offerings and moved to a series of kiosks located in front of town’s iconic Round Barn.
In 2022, it was announced that the market would move to a new open-air shelter located in the Missisquoi River Park, André Gagnon sector, located at the northern entrance of Mansonville, a hamlet in the Municipality of the Township of Potton.
In 2023, the market was relocated to the municipal multi-functional covered structure with new movable custom built kiosks allowing the market supervisor to organize the market as deemed appropriate given the offer of vendors and services.
In 2024, a non-profit organization was created and a new administration council was elected. The new structure brings together multiple stakeholders to ensure the market flourishes as a community-based initiative working to support the local economy and regional food security.
